2)     Check that the x-rays are on and turned up to 50kV; 30mA.

Normal operating settings are -
50kV; 30mA.
Typical stand-by settings are -
40kV; 10mA. (short term, i.e. a few hours).

20kV; 5mA (longer term).
On rare occasions, the generator and/or x-rays may be turned off.

If the display shows 30mA, 50kV and 1.5kW, then the power is already up.

If the display shows less than this then you need to crank up the power as follows:

Press the kV button (middle right above), then enter "50" on the keypad at the right of the panel and press the "ENTER" key.
Press the mA button (middle left above), then enter "30" on the keypad at the right of the panel and press the "ENTER" key.

If the x-rays are off, then push the "ON" button on the left of the panel.  The x-rays will come on to low power (20kV; 5mA).  From here you can crank the power to 40kV; 10mA and then on to 50kV, 30mA as described above.

If the generator was off, you need to turn the key to the horizontal position before turning the x-rays on and cranking the power up.
